Ever notice how hard your stomach works to make you vomit? I have recently....it still feels like it's bruised. I'm not going to continue on down that road with details, but well, it's quite nasty.
I am feeling better though. not good enough to eat real food, but better. I have been surviving off of yogurt and saltines with occassional water and gatorade. Nothing like a stomach virus to jump start a weightloss, huh? I have lost 8 lbs since Monday, which I would have been thrilled over, had it come from other circumstances. At least those jeans I was working to fit in, well, I fit now! Now it's all about staying in them....I should just wear them everyday when I get my appetite back, so I can remember how good it feels to fit in a size smaller then before.
I have loads of work to do for school....you see what I'm doing instead, don't you? I have to brief a case and determine why the supreme court ruled the way they did. I don't know, go ask them! (Would that count as a legitimate answer? I have a feeling that wouldn't fly).
Speaking of fly, I've been watching that batman movie all week, thanks to my son....my eyes have witnessed the gloriousness that is Mr. Bale for 4 straight days. Notice, I am not complaining about having to watch the movie. It's for my son....really, I mean, he really likes batman! He likes the terminator movies as well, but I have to draw the line somewhere.
And since I have been away from schoolwork for this week, I have got to get some stuff done...and stop watching the bat man(as the boy says)...he also ratted me out and said "Mama says the bat man is cute"...of course, mama has been saying that since newsies...or swing kids...can't remember...basically, mama's been saying that since high school.
what's worth every penny you ask? Oh, John Mayer in a borat one-piece mans bathing suit...oh yes he did....too funny!!!
In other news...my son got his first official acceptance letter today. He was accepted into preschool...of course, as of sept. we will be completely broke. no, seriously, we will be totally broke. his tuition and hers? YIKES!!
Well, at least in another year I will be making enough to cover that, and my new car...nope, didn't get the car yet, but we are still in negotiation stage.
I'm heading out of here for weather that is not cloudy and rainy, or so we hope....
I've got one song in my head..."Sailing.....take me away...."
Ok, that song blows, but I'm going to have an AWESOME weekend.
Enjoy yours!
I have this novel, it's required reading for about 3/4 of the law schools in America. It's a true story about a case involving a town in Mass. that had the water supply contaminated, causing several of the citizens to develope leukemia and severl others to have MANY health issues.
Anyway, I was apprehensive to have to read this as well as 5 other textbooks, but I cannot keep the thing down. I started last night and I have about 1/4 of the book to go...did I mention it's no exactly a tiny book?
If interested in the title, let me know, but I'm not too sure that I want to put it here since it's a highly googled phrase.
Got my second set of grades since the semester began...so far so good...both assignments came back with 100's!!! This is starting off well, and I hope to continue it! I want to try and get another textbook scholarship for the fall semester. I calculated the books needed for that semster and they total over 4k...i'd be nice to not have to pay ALL of that out of pocket.
This book, btw, I have created in my head a screenplay...I've already cast several actors in this screenplay(in my head). Mr. Walken will be the judge, Mr. Smith will be the reverend...I so desparately want to cast Mr. Bale, but I have yet to meet a character that frequenty takes off his shirt, and well, as I do believe Mr. Bale IS an excellent actor, I would much enjoy that he frequently remove is shirt. I have high hopes for the upcoming summer blockbuster that he is cast as the lead role....as a matter of fact, the predecessor OF said summer blockbuster is playing in front of m as we speak....I'm gladly looking forward to the aforementioned shirt removal scenes. My husband doesn't understand the fascination, but yet, he is not gay, nor a female, and he does not pocess man-crushes, so I know he never will understand. The great hair and goofy smile do not help either..........dang....too bad he spends an awful lot of time in this movie wearing a lack armoured suit.
And now on to more important things....I have to go to the blinds store and get the new blinds....BTW, it is not next day as the sign and name proclaims...they should be called 5 days later then promised blinds...but I'm not bitter...I'm not!!
In my overly optimistic attempts to retain my 4.0 statud from last semester, I was very pleased to receive my first grades of the semester. My first assignment came back wth a 15/15 and I managed to obtain 5 extra credit points in another class as well. The extra credit points came as a surprise. I was actually sending an email to the professor as a complaint, and in the process, gave her an answer to a problem that others were having in the class. So far, so good...it can only go downhill from there, right?
Well, I am currently in the process of reviewing a mock case to see if the common law of stare decesis can be used to give a proper judgement, resulting in a monetary reward for the plaintiff. Yeah, fun stuff....when does the cool stuff come? I want to have a mock trial and win a case! THAT is when the fun happens...oh, yea, did I tell you all that I am soooo done with the medical field....especially when I found out that the medical malpractice insurance premiums for nurse practioners went up 64% from last year!!!! Oh, no way am I paying that! It would end up becoming most of a paycheck. So, on to my real love...the one that I didn't think I was smart enough to get into school to learn. But apparently someone thinks I am, because someone is letting me study this law stuff.
Now,on to stare decesis!
I wake to hear the fed's thinking that our country is in a recession, and that they dropped the interest rate. I'm sad about the interest rate thing because NOW would be the perfect time to get a new mortgage loan, but we haven't yet found a house.
The day ends when I find out one of my favorite actors(whose summer blockbuster I am looking forward to seeing) was found dead in his apartment today. Now I worry that he will be brought to some weird cult status like Brandon Lee from the Crow...just sad. He was way too young to go.
who has such a smartmouth, I don't know whether to hug him or punish him most ofthe day....woke up this morning and says to me "Get this thing off of me(meaning the diaper I make him wear at night in case of accidents), what do you think I am, a baby?" Yes, those were his EXACT words...the words straight from his two-year-old mouth!!! So, I proceed to tell him that he will always be my baby, to which he replies "NO, I am no baby, I am a big boy and you need to menember that!" Of course, menember=remember, but it IS a hard word for a 2 year old to say. SO, then we talk aboutsome other things, like what to have for breakfast, and I go sit on the sofa...the follows me, gets up on my lap and asks to snuggle under the blanket...I said"I thought only babies snuggle under the blankets with their mamas"...then I here..."ummmm,yea...ok! I be your little boy when I need to, but I be big boy other times"....ahhhh....I think we need to fix this issue now. My son is already trying to find ways to use people.
Geesh!!!!
On a totally different note. Since I got my newer, faster, laptop with our new, fast broadband, I have taken to using it as a radio of sorts...I've been streaming radio from all over the world. Two of my top faves are WRNR of Annapolis, MD (which of course I could listen to the regular radio for this, but it's more fun using the laptop) and Capital 95.8 out of London.(Except that play "Worried about Ray" WAYYYYYYY TOOOOO MUCHHHHH). Oh, and can I ask what London's fascination with Michael Jackson is all about? They play alot of that too...did he release an album over there, or is that where most of his fanbase is? I can guarantee a station in the US would not be caught dead playing MJ as often as I have heard coming out of there!
Yesterday was hubbies b-day. I bought him a grill/bbq-er/smoker. He has wanted one for ages....and of corse, he could not use it last night because of a snow storm(the first real storm of the winter). We are having friends over for dinner on Sat. though...hopefully he can use it then. I hope so....ever since I bought him that thing, I have been craving some grilled salmon with an ancho chili/brown sugar rub. YUMMMMMMM.
Is this not too cute for words?
She knows all her cheers by heart, and has the best time doing it! I did it as a girl too, and was secretly wishing she wouldn't, because, well, we were bitches...but she is having so much fun, I cannot deny her the opportunity to cheer her school basketball team! I wish when I was that young that my uniforms looked that good, but, well, it was the 80's!
Here is my adorable little cheerleader:
"Go Slade!"
How do you feel about your birthday? Do you look forward to it and remind all your friends, or do you dread it and try to keep it a secret?
I love my birthday! I start reminding everyone a month in advance, and then we all have a great big celebration! Now, I'll let y'all know if that changes as I get older, but for right now, I LOVE my age!!
My daughter got to see the event of a little girl's lifetime, and now I am cool...apparently her best friends mom is cool too...that's good...I am col to a six year old girl. Now, if only I could find a way to get rid of this headache. I mean, I enjoyed spending time with my daughter, her best friend, and best friends mom, but, well, I didn't exactly enjoy the shrieking which sent my head spinning! Did I really act that way when I was a little girl?? My poor Nana's head...no wonder she always bought the ultra, mega sized bottle of aspirin!!!
